After a three-year hiatus, Chocstock returned to Wellington in 2024; a bigger, bolder celebration of Aotearoa’s craft chocolate industry. With more makers, immersive experiences, and a spotlight on the connection between New Zealand chocolate and Pacific cocoa growers, the festival was ready to make a splash.

Our brief? Drive ticket sales and secure national media coverage that captured both the scale and the deeper cultural relevance of the event. With a lean budget, we focused on two key media windows: the ticket launch in March and the lead-up to the festival in May and June.

We led with strong storytelling and sharp, targeted pitching, highlighting hero collaborations such as the Peter Gordon x Wellington Chocolate Factory bar, a brewing collaboration with Double Vision and the increasing visibility of Pacific cocoa farmers.

The result: more than 20 pieces of national and lifestyle coverage and sold-out sessions across the weekend. Chocstock didn’t just return; it redefined a new era of chocolate culture in Aotearoa.

Key achievements:

  • Delivered 20+ stories across national broadcast, print and lifestyle media
Sold out festival sessions across the weekend
  • Elevated the profile of Pacific cocoa producers within the NZ chocolate industry
